Ni Water came in to the school recently to talk to the Key Stage 2 pupils about the importance of reducing our use of plastic and reusing and refilling our water bottles instead of throwing them away.
We all learned that it takes 450 years for plastic to break down, therefore by reusing our bottles we are also helping the environment. Every pupil in the school received a refillable water bottle.
The main messages we learned were:
- Refill our water bottles
- Use tap water as it is cheaper and better for us than shop bought water. We don’t know how long water has been sitting in the water bottles in the shops.
- We need at least 6-8 glasses of water per day to keep ourselves healthy.
We are also waiting for the N.I Waterbus to visit our school sometime in the future.
